Pest Control FAQ — BC Pest Solutions
Answers to common pest control questions in British Columbia. Pricing, safety, methods, timelines, and guarantees.
Pricing
How much does pest control cost in BC?
Perimeter treatment: $295–$325. Interior + exterior: $325–$435. Rodent program: $425–$550. Carpenter ant injection: $1,300–$1,500. Bed bug treatment: $525–$1,500. We confirm exact cost during a free inspection before any work begins.
Do you charge for inspections?
Initial inspections are free for most residential properties. We assess the problem, identify the pest, map entry points, and provide a written quote on site.
Safety
Is treatment safe for pets and children?
Yes. We use Health Canada-registered products approved for residential use. Keep pets and children away from treated areas until dry — usually 30 to 60 minutes for interior treatments, 4 hours for heavy applications. Rodent stations are locked and tamper-resistant.
What products do you use?
Health Canada-registered products only. For rodents, we use snap traps in tamper-resistant stations — fully compliant with BC's 2021 SGAR restrictions. For insects, we use targeted baits, residual barriers, and IGRs depending on the pest and situation.
Service
Do you offer same-day service?
Yes. Call before noon for same-day inspection across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Emergency services are available 7 days a week.
What areas do you serve?
Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Langley, Abbotsford, Delta, White Rock, Maple Ridge, Chilliwack, and surrounding communities throughout the Fraser Valley.
Guarantees
Do you guarantee your work?
Written warranty on every treatment. Rodent exclusion: 180-day minimum. Carpenter ants: multi-year warranty. If pests return within the warranty period, we re-treat at no additional cost.
What if the treatment does not work?
We re-treat at no charge within the warranty period. Our follow-up visits are specifically designed to catch survivors and newly hatched pests before they re-establish.
BC Regulations
What about BC's rodenticide ban?
Since January 2023, BC permanently restricted second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs). All BC Pest Solutions rodent programs are fully compliant: exclusion first, snap traps in tamper-resistant stations, and raptor-safe methods. We never use SGARs.
Are your technicians licensed?
Every technician holds a current BC Ministry of Environment Pesticide Applicator Certificate under the Integrated Pest Management Act. We also carry WorkSafe BC coverage and $2M+ third-party liability insurance.
